All About Dance camps and clubs behaviour policy:

At All About Dance UK, we are committed to providing a safe, enjoyable, and positive environment for all children attending our after-school dance clubs. Our behaviour policy ensures that everyone can participate in a respectful, supportive atmosphere that encourages growth, confidence, and teamwork.

1. Expectations of Behaviour

We ask all children to demonstrate the following behaviours:

  • Respect: Treat others with kindness, respect, and consideration at all times, both towards peers and instructors.
  • Listening: Follow instructions promptly and respectfully.
  • Effort: Participate with enthusiasm, put in their best effort, and show commitment to learning.
  • Teamwork: Work cooperatively with others, supporting and encouraging teammates.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety rules, including following instructions when using equipment or performing dance routines.

2. Unacceptable Behaviour

While we encourage positive behaviour, we also need to address any actions that are disruptive to the group or unsafe for the children involved. Unacceptable behaviour includes, but is not limited to:

  • Physical aggression, such as hitting, pushing, or any form of violence.
  • Verbal bullying or disrespectful language towards others.
  • Disruptive behaviour that interferes with the learning process.
  • Refusal to follow the coach’s instructions or breaking safety rules.

3. Managing Behaviour

We have a clear and fair process for managing behaviour:

  • Verbal Warning: If a child’s behaviour does not meet expectations, they will receive a clear and constructive verbal warning, explaining why the behaviour is inappropriate.
  • Time Out: If the behaviour continues after a warning, the child may be given a brief “time out” to reflect on their actions.
  • Parent/Carer Communication: In cases where behaviour does not improve or is deemed serious, the parents or carers will be contacted to discuss the matter and find a solution together.
  • Exclusion from Session: For serious or repeated incidents, the child may be temporarily or permanently excluded from the club, at the discretion of All About Dance UK.

4. Positive Reinforcement

We believe in reinforcing good behaviour and rewarding positive contributions. Children who consistently demonstrate excellent behaviour, effort, and teamwork will be acknowledged and celebrated. This could include verbal praise, certificates, or other recognition.

5. Safeguarding and Wellbeing

The safety and wellbeing of all participants is our priority. Any incidents of bullying, harassment, or unsafe behaviour will be treated with the utmost seriousness and dealt with swiftly. We are committed to creating a space where children feel safe, valued, and supported.

We encourage children to take responsibility for their behaviour, and we work closely with parents and carers to ensure a positive experience for everyone involved.

By attending All About Dance UK after-school clubs, children and parents agree to adhere to this behaviour policy.
